Tesla's Mysterious New Project: 'Giga Water Loop'

Tesla Inc TSLA is no stranger to ambitious projects. With Gigafactory Texas in Austin being a testament to its forward-thinking endeavors, the company has recently set the rumor mills abuzz with the news of a new project named “Giga Water Loop.”

What happened: According to a report by Electrek, the outlet discovered a building permit referencing the "Giga Water Loop." The permit detailed a Tesla project with an Austin Energy electric pole located close to a proposed pipe on the northern side of the river.

However, the precise details regarding the Giga Water Loop remain elusive, as no additional information from the initial project filing has been uncovered.

Gigafactory Texas already serves as the manufacturing site for the Model Y and is gearing up for Cybertruck production. But what makes this project stand out is its comprehensive nature, encapsulating not just vehicle production, but also battery cell and cathode material manufacturing. All of these facilities are nestled within the sprawling campus, which is also Tesla's headquarters.

The company's CEO, Elon Musk, has previously articulated his desire to transform the entire campus, situated along the picturesque Colorado River, into an ecological paradise that's accessible to the public.
