Although there’s no detailed information yet, it’s probable that the Galaxy S24, usually announced in January or February, will pioneer this feature within the company.

For the unversed, the Emergency SOS via Satellite feature on the iPhone interacts with users during emergencies, sending the information and their location to a relay center. 

Samsung plans to use a similar approach but is also considering allowing users to send and receive all types of messages via satellite, not just emergency services, the report noted.

This feature has proven crucial since its inception on the iPhone, aiding several rescues from precarious situations. 

In December last year, it helped to rescue a stranded man in remote Alaska. The feature was also credited for helping a rescue team find two people stranded 300 feet in a remote canyon with zero cell service in the Angeles National Forest.

The Emergency SOS via Satellite feature is currently accessible in several countries, including the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., among others.

This move could potentially redefine the smartphone landscape, opening up new possibilities for user connectivity and safety.
