Missouri Cannabis Recall Resolved; $13M To Veterans & Public Services

The Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation removed a recall on 15,000 products due to non-compliance with the METRC tracking system. Some products now meet standards with THC from Missouri's regulated market.

Additionally, $13 million from the medical marijuana program was transferred to the Missouri Veterans Commission, totaling $39,978,820 in five transfers. $3,836,919 from the adult-use marijuana program has been distributed to agencies for legal assistance, drug addiction treatment and overdose prevention.

Connecticut Increases Adult-Use Cannabis Purchase Limits

The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection announced an increase in transaction limits for adult-use cannabis customers, effective from December 1, 2023. The measured approach seeks to maintain a balanced and fair marketplace for both adult-use consumers and medical marijuana patients.

Customers will be able to purchase up to 1/2 ounce of raw flower or its equivalent per transaction, reflecting ongoing assessments of supply and demand. Medical marijuana patients can buy up to 5 ounces per month with no individual transaction restrictions.

Indiana Contemplates Cannabis Law Reforms

Indiana's Interim Study Committee on Commerce and Economic Development has begun examining the potential legalization of adult-use cannabis, considering its workforce impact and impact on teen use. The committee explored the health and economic benefits of THC products. No legislative action was taken.

Maryland County Leaders Address Cannabis Zoning Amid Tiny Library Tactic

County leaders in Maryland are being cautioned to adopt reasonable zoning restrictions for cannabis businesses as the state prepares to issue more than six dozen new dispensary licenses, prioritizing social equity.

Concerns have been raised about some counties trying to bypass the law through unconventional zoning measures, such as creating tiny libraries to block dispensaries, reported Bryan Sears for local media. Maryland's cannabis law permits local governments to ban dispensaries within 500 feet of schools, daycares, and recreational facilities.

Nevada Regulators Approve Six Conditional Cannabis Consumption Lounge Licenses

Nevada regulators have granted conditional licenses for six more cannabis consumption lounges, including plans by Curaleaf Holdings CURLF and Green Thumb Industries GTBIF.

Curaleaf's subsidiary, Tryke Cos. wants to open a retail-attached consumption lounge near the Las Vegas Strip while Green Thumb Industries plans a similar concept through its Integral Associates subsidiary at a location adjacent to the Cookies on the Strip retail outlet.

The state's Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) has now approved a total of 15 consumption lounges in Nevada, reported MJBizDaily.
