The product which promises to reintroduce the tactile feel of typing on a mobile device is expected to launch next month.
What Happened: According to a recent report by 9to5Mac, "Clicks," a physical keyboard for an Apple Inc. AAPL iPhone is more than a mere Bluetooth keyboard appendage. The keyboard, part of an accessory case, connects directly to your iPhone via Lightning or USB-C, drawing power from the device itself.
The team at Clicks Technology, including co-founders Michael Fisher and Kevin Michaluk, highlighted three key advantages to their product.
Firstly, it frees up almost half of the iPhone’s screen space by removing the virtual keyboard. Secondly, it significantly enhances typing accuracy and speed. Lastly, it supports iOS keyboard shortcuts across a variety of apps, thereby eliminating the need for physical keyboard access.
‘Clicks’ will be offered in three versions, tailored for the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The product, which starts at $139, is available for pre-order now, with shipping set to start on Feb. 1.
