Despite Tim Cook's '99% Satisfaction' Boast, Survey Reveals Customers Least Happy With This iPhone 15 Model

The premium variant of Apple Inc.’s AAPL latest smartphone, the iPhone 15 Pro, is experiencing a decline in customer satisfaction ratings.

What Happened: Despite premium design and a more powerful A17 Pro chipset, buyers are the least happy with the iPhone 15 Pro compared to other models in the iPhone 15 series, according to data from analytics firm PerfectRec.

Initially, the iPhone 15 Pro encountered several complaints about overheating issues. Although the problem has largely been resolved, the device continues to lag behind other models in the series in terms of user satisfaction.

Customer feedback analysis reveals dissatisfaction with the iPhone 15 Pro’s battery life, minor upgrades from previous versions, and aesthetic concerns, including an obtrusive camera lens. This dip in satisfaction ratings has persisted despite all iPhone models seeing a decline in the number of five-star reviews.

Why It Matters: These findings are in stark contrast to Apple CEO Tim Cook's comments that the iPhone 15 series has a 99% customer satisfaction rating in a post-earnings conference call. Cook also celebrated the iPhone 15’s record-breaking sales – Apple reported a 6% increase in sales compared to the iPhone 14 series.

This comes at a time when the global smartphone market has hit a ten-year low, and competition from Huawei Technologies has been on the rise in China.

Furthermore, iPhone 15 also helped Apple secure 64% of the US market share in the December 2023 quarter, with Android seeing a decline during the same period.
