Bitcoin Surpasses $72,000 Following Inflation Data; Toncoin Emerges As Top Gainer

Bitcoin BTC/USD moved higher, with the cryptocurrency prices trading above the key $72,000 level on Tuesday.

Ethereum ETH/USD, meanwhile, edged lower, but remained above the key $4,000 mark this morning.

Toncoin TON/USD was the top gainer over the prior 24 hours, while Pepe PEPE/USD turned out to be the biggest loser.

The Consumer Price Index in the U.S. rose 0.4% month-over-month in February, up from 0.3% in January.

At the time of writing, the global crypto market cap rose to $2.7 trillion, recording a 24-hour gain of 0.1%. BTC was trading higher by 1% at $72,208 while ETH fell by around 0.1% to $4,023.21 on Tuesday.
