Apple Might Finally Launch Beats Solo4 After Eight-Year Wait At The Same Price As Its Predecessor

Apple Inc AAPL is gearing up to release its latest Beats Solo4 headphones, which are rumored to hit the market on May 2. The headphones will reportedly come with a slew of new features and a $199 price tag.

What Happened: The new Beats Solo4 headphones will be equipped with USB-C charging, upgraded sound quality, and a battery life of 50 hours, reported 9to5Mac citing trusted sources. The headphones also feature Dynamic Head Tracking support for an enhanced Spatial Audio experience.

The Solo4 headphones’ sound quality is said to be improved with upgraded drivers and rebalanced acoustics, thanks to custom-built 40mm transducers. The headphones are also rumored to support high-res lossless audio and retain the 3.5mm audio port for lossless audio without battery power.

Other features include a 10-hour increase in battery life over the Solo3, bringing the total to 50 hours, and Fast Fuel recharging, which provides up to 5 hours of wireless playback with just 10 minutes of charging. The headphones will also feature one-touch pairing support for Android and Find My support for iCloud devices.

According to the report, the Solo4 headphones will be available in May and priced at $199.99, the same as the Solo3. They will join the existing Beats lineup, which includes the Beats Studio Pro, Beats Studio Buds+, Beats Fit Pro, Beats Studio Buds, Beats Flex, and Powerbeats Pro.

Why It Matters: The launch of the Beats Solo4 headphones comes at a crucial time for Apple, which is facing a potential revenue decline due to declining iPhone sales in China. The new headphones could provide a much-needed boost to the company’s revenue stream.

Meanwhile, Apple has also made significant strides in the field of artificial intelligence, with the recent release of its new AI model, ReALM, which outperforms OpenAI’s GPT-4 in parsing contextual data. This development is a part of Apple’s AI initiatives, set to be launched in June.
