As Apple Integrates 'Woke Nanny AI Spyware,' Let's Remind Ourselves Of Elon Musk's Most Explosive Feuds

Apple AAPL has announced its partnership with Microsoft-backed OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15 Sequoia. This announcement sparked yet another feud with Elon Musk, who expressed dissatisfaction with the move, to say the least.

In a tweet on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Musk warned that integrating OpenAI at the operating system level is an "unacceptable security violation." He even threatened to ban Apple devices from his companies and require visitors to store their gadgets in a Faraday cage, which blocks signals, upon entering.

Don't Miss:

Musk also shared, "If Apple actually integrates woke nanny AI spyware into their OS, we might need to do that!" in response to a user asking for a "Grok phone with Grok integrated."

In the wake of this latest Apple-Musk feud (yes, this isn’t his first rodeo with Apple and CEO Tim Cook), let’s explore some of Musk’s other notable feuds with Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, AOC, and even whole countries like Brazil and Australia.

Legal Battle with OpenAI

Musk recently dropped his lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, alleging they broke their original agreement. OpenAI dismissed his claims as nonsense, pointing out that Musk had previously supported their move to become a for-profit business.

On the social media platform X, Musk tweeted at OpenAI to change the company’s name to ClosedAI, calling them "living a lie" and taunting them with a simple "lol" under a tweet announcing new leadership.

Long-Running Feud with Mark Zuckerberg

Musk's feud with Mark Zuckerberg began in 2016 after a SpaceX rocket explosion destroyed a Facebook satellite. Tensions escalated during the 2018 Cambridge Analytica scandal, and Musk publicly deleted Facebook pages for his companies, Tesla and SpaceX.

In 2017, the two clashed over artificial intelligence, with Zuckerberg criticizing Musk's doomsday warnings about AI during a Facebook Live session. The feud intensified in 2023 when they teased a cage fight, although it never happened. The launch of Meta’s new app, Threads, reignited the feud.

Mocking Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Musk mocked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with a meme, prompting a swift response from Ukrainian officials and the public.

Clashes with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)

Musk and AOC have often butted heads, with AOC accusing Musk of proto-fascism after the social media platform suspended journalists' accounts for allegedly doxxing

Disputes with Meta’s Yann LeCun

Elon Musk and Meta's Chief AI Scientist, Yann LeCun, have had public spats highlighting their differing views on AI, research, and company ethics.

LeCun has criticized Musk’s approach to AI and general management style. He has accused Musk of spreading harmful conspiracy theories and called Musk’s political views "vengeful" and dangerous for democracy.

Global Free Speech Debates

Elon Musk, known for his strong stance on free speech, has faced numerous controversies since acquiring X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2022. His actions have sparked intense debates, particularly in Brazil and Australia, where he is engaged in legal battles over content restrictions.

Other Conflicts

Musk has also had high-profile spats with Disney CEO Bob Iger over X ads and other things, with Substack over their launch of Substack Notes, a competitor to X, and even with former President Donald Trump, with whom he has had a love-hate relationship.

These examples illustrate Musk’s numerous public battles. As Apple moves forward with its AI plans, the tech world is watching how Musk’s threats and ongoing feuds will unfold.
