Ford Motor Co‘s F electric super-van beat all other vehicles at the Goodwood Festival of Speed’s Timed Shootout Hillclimb event on Sunday, weeks after its electric super-truck became the fastest vehicle to climb Pikes Peak last month.

What Happened: The Ford Supervan 4.2 driven by Romain Dumas won against several others with the Subaru WRX: Project Midnight driven by Scott Speed close at its heels. The van completed the climb in 43.9 seconds while the Subaru vehicle finished in 46.1 seconds.

Other vehicles to take part in the hill climb include the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, Alpine A110 Pikes Peak, and Czinger 21C, among others.

The Ford Supervan’s victory comes weeks after its electric supertruck based on the F-150 Lightning had a major victory at the 102nd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Dumas then completed the Hillclimb at 8:53.553, making it the fastest vehicle to complete the competition.

Why It Matters: Ford is not just winning hillclimb competitions with its EVs but also customers. In the second quarter, Ford sold 23,957 EVs in the U.S., marking a 61.4% jump from the corresponding quarter of last year.

The surge in sales was mostly due to the popularity of its Mustang Mach-E SUV of which the company sold 12,645 units. The F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck was the second best-selling EV from the company, followed by its E-transit electric vans.

In comparison, Ford’s rival General Motors sold only 21,930 EVs in the quarter in the U.S. despite its larger EV lineup composed of 7 models.
