Mark Cuban Praises Elon Musk's AI Chatbot Grok For Answering Kamala Harris' POV On Immigration: 'I Think It's Accurate'

Mark Cuban, the billionaire entrepreneur and part-owner of the Dallas Mavericks, has publicly praised Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok, to Vice President Kamala Harris’ immigration viewpoint, terming it as “accurate”.

What Happened: Over the weekend, Cuban took to X, formerly Twitter, and responded to questions from an advisor to Donald Trump about Harris’ immigration stance.

Cuban, who is known for his role on “Shark Tank,” deferred to Grok, an AI chatbot developed by Musk’s xAI company, to answer the immigration question, stating his primary focus is on business policy.

When asked why Harris wants to grant citizenship to all illegal immigrants, Cuban shared Grok’s response: “While Kamala Harris supports immigration reform that includes pathways to citizenship for undocumented immigrants … there’s no direct evidence or statement from her indicating a policy to grant citizenship to all undocumented immigrants immediately.”

Cuban referred to Grok saying, “And here is the response to your immigration question from Grok. I think it's accurate. Good job Elon Musk. I'm actually using Grok more often than any other LLM these days.”

Why It Matters: Cuban’s endorsement of Grok’s response is significant given his past interactions with Musk and AI.

In February, Cuban suggested that Musk’s Grok could be considered “right-leaning,” while Google’s Gemini might be “left-leaning.” He also endorsed open-sourcing AI models in April, calling it a “smart business decision.”

Despite disagreements with Musk, such as when he told Musk to “delete your account” after Musk endorsed a controversial interview, Cuban has expressed appreciation for Musk’s social media platform, X.

Earlier this month, he explained saying while many posts on X are often “useless or hateful, or both,” but noted that the platform occasionally provides rare opportunities for meaningful discussions and valuable learning.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Cuban has used Grok or praised the AI platform. In September 2024, he used Grok 2 to “compare the candidates’ approach to child care.” He also previously used the platform to analyze the debate between Trump and Joe Biden.
