UFOs And Aliens? Elon Musk Dismisses Rumors: Billionaire 'Will Immediately Post' On X If He Sees Evidence

Zinger Key Points
  • SpaceX has over 6,000 Starlink satellites in operation and “not once had to maneuver around an alien spacecraft."
  • Often, UFO sightings are just drones, balloons or space clutter (a problem Musk's critics say Starlink has made worse).

Billionaire Elon Musk is known for his passion for the space sector and his belief that humans can someday get to Mars.

When it comes to aliens and UFOs, Musk is skeptical that humans have seen any.

What Happened: Musk, in a recent sit-down interview with Tucker Carlson, said he doesn’t believe that anyone has seen extra-terrestrials.

The potential sightings of UFOs that people claim to see are likely classified "weapons programs" from the U.S. government, the SpaceX founder said. Some of these items — "new aircraft, new missiles, and things" — are so classified that the U.S. military doesn't even know about them, he claimed, as reported by the New York Post.

Carlson wasn't so sure as he told Musk that the U.S. military has reported of having to maneuver around objects.

"Well, unidentified flying objects are one thing, but there are always a bunch of classified programs that are underway," Musk said.

SpaceX has over 6,000 Starlink satellites in operation and "not once had to maneuver around an alien spacecraft," he continued.

Musk has "not seen any evidence of aliens," but wouldn't rule out the potential of other lifeforms existing.

"There's a lot we don't know. Where did we come from? Where are the aliens?"

Musk, who has said for years that he hopes there are aliens somewhere, "guaranteed" Carlson that he would let the public know if he had proof.

"The split second I see any evidence of aliens, I will immediately post that on the X platform,” Musk said. “It will probably be our number one post of all time."

Why It's Important: Over the years, Musk has argued that if the government had evidence of aliens, they would likely use this information to increase military spending.

The Pentagon and Office of the Director of National Intelligence have investigated alleged UFO sightings over the year.

Often, these sightings are drones, balloons or space clutter (a problem Musk’s critics say Starlink has made worse).

Some sightings were said to have "unusual maneuverability," but none have been officially linked to belonging to aliens.

Congress is expected to get an update on the Pentagon's research into UFO sightings soon, according to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), who chairs the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities. Gillibrand called the findings "a priority."
