Caixabank Posts Rise In Profit

Spanish lender Caixabank SA (OTC:

) reported a strong rise in its third-quarter net profit. Caixabank posted a quarterly net profit of EUR161 million ($203.6 million), versus a year-ago profit of EUR50 million. However, analysts were expecting a profit of EUR168 million. Caixabank's 9-month net profit rose 1.6% to 466 million euros ($589.77 million), versus expectations of 474 million euros. The bank's quarterly net interest income rose 8.39% to EUR1.06 billion from EUR977 million. Liquidity was €61,172 million at 30 September, 2014.
