Share:

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 18, 2009) - Corex Gold Corp. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:CGE) has commenced a phase two drill program on its Santana gold project in Sonora State, Mexico. This planned program will comprise of a 3,000 meter (22 hole) RC Drill program: Approximately 2,000 meters (13 holes) to follow up on previous drilling success (please refer to news release dated July 29, 2009) and approximately 1,000 meters (9 holes) of drilling targeted on new gold zones identified via grid soil sampling and trench work just completed.

The break down of drilling is as follows:

Follow up drilling: will consist of 13 holes, designed to test targets located in an area measuring 1400 meters x 600 meters as defined by favorable alteration and associated gold anomalies. These holes will test the downdip and stike extensions of Turena, Benjamin, and Santa Lucia Zones drilled in 2008. Final results were released in the news release dated July 29, 2009. Gold mineralization is associated with alteration assemblages that are characterized by pervasive and structurally controlled iron oxides, quartz vein stockwork, clay and sericite-illite alteration. The mineralization at the proposed seven drilled areas is hosted by intermediate tuffs and flows.

New Gold Zone drilling: will consist of 9 holes to test four new target areas of the Santana Project: located along the "NW" zones which extend for two kilometers in a south-easterly direction. The Turena North, El Divisadero, El Nicho and La Micha located respectively 250 m North of La Turena, 350, 850 and 1050 meters southeast from La Turena.
