J.P. Morgan Issues Update From ASTA Conference
J.P. Morgan updated its news from the agricultural sector today based on information gleaned at the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) conference in Chicago.
The bank said that Monsanto (NYSE: MON) reported a 9.9 bushel North American yield advantage for its five leading DEKALB corn hybrids. Meanwhile, DuPont (NYSE: DD) reported a 7.8-11.0 bushel advantage for its triple stacks.
DuPont gained 2% in market share this year, while gain for Monsanto was flat.
MON shares were up $1.18 to $83.38 today. DD closed down 4 cents to $31.52. J.P. Morgan has a hold recommendation on the former, and a overweight recommendation on the latter.
