Longbow Releases Update For Laser/Optics Industry (NEWP, COHR, IIVI, IPGP)

Longbow Research released its update for the Laser/Optics industry. Longbow noted that the demand is still weak owing to recession.

61% of its survey respondents reported a weaker demand y/y while defense and medical applications are propping up optics suppliers for now. Both the optics suppliers and the laser OEMs are reducing prices to simulate sales. The outlook is more positive for optics and mixed for lasers.
