• United Technologies (NYSE:UTX) offered 2010 earnings guidance of $4.40 to $4.65 a share, versus consensus estimates of $4.53, on revenues of $54 billion to $55 billion, beating estimates of $53.32 billion

• Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) restarted coverage of DirecTV (NYSE:DTV) with a "buy," rating with a price target of $39

• JP Morgan (NYSE:JPM) upgraded NCR (NYSE:NCR) to "overweight" from "neutral," but lowered the price target to $15 from $16

• Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) received authorization by the European Commission to market its pediatric vaccine, Prevenar13

• Bernstein initiated coverage of newly-listed AOL (NYSE:AOL) with "outperform," and a price target of $31

• Kaufman upgraded Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) to "buy" from "hold," with a price target of $20

• National Semiconductor (NYSE:NSM) reported better-than-expected fiscal second quarter earnings of 20 cents a share, beating estimates by 6 cents on revenues of $345 million, ahead of estimates of $337 million. The company said it anticipates "roughly flat" revenues for the third quarter
