What To Expect From The Trump Tech Summit

President-elect Donald Trump will host some of the biggest names in technology for a summit on Wednesday. According to a Reuters report, the following companies will be represented at the event:

  • Alphabet Inc GOOG GOOGL.
  • Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN.
  • Apple Inc. AAPL.
  • Facebook Inc FB.
  • Intel Corporation INTC.
  • Microsoft Corporation MSFT.
  • Oracle Corporation ORCL.
  • Tesla Motors Inc TSLA.
  • Who Said What About Trump

    Oracle's CEO Safra Catz told Reuters that he plans on telling Trump "we are with him and are here to help in any way we can."

    Executives from other companies declined to comment to Reuters. Here is a sample of what some of the leading executives of the technology companies had to say about Trump around the election:

    • Eric Schmidt, chairman of Alphabet said during an interview, "We should congratulate the next president of the United States [...] Most people did not expect this outcome and it's a pretty amazing story."
    • Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon tweeted, "[C]ongratulations to @realDonaldTrump. I for one give him my most open mind and wish him great success in his service to the country."
    • Tim Cook, CEO of Apple told employees in a memo, "Regardless of which candidate each of us supported as individuals, the only way to move forward is to move forward together."
    • Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook posted on his Facebook wall, "We are all blessed to have the ability to make the world better, and we have the responsibility to do it. Let's go work even harder."
    • Brian Krzanich said before the election, "It is not our business to support a person."
    • Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft said on LinkedIn, "We congratulate the president-elect, and look forward to working with all those elected yesterday. Our commitment to our mission and values are steadfast, and in particular fostering a diverse and inclusive culture."
    • Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla said before the election, "[J]ust no."
