Amazon's stock notably sold off following the U.S. election as investors grew increasingly concerned that Trump's rhetoric against Amazon could turn into policy.
Since then, Bezos tactically called a truce with Trump, and this may have paved the way for Amazon to become the largest beneficiary under the Trump campaign.
Tom Siebel is the founder, chairman and CEO of C3 IoT, an Internet of Things platform and applications company. On Tuesday, the executive was a guest on CNBC's "Squawk Box" to talk about Trump's infrastructure plans outside of roads, bridges and airports.
According to Siebel, Trump's infrastructure spending will also cover last-mile delivery, smart city initiatives, cybersecurity and safety, among others. All of these initiatives will also require a new generation of software — and provide a huge opportunity for companies that operate in the IoT space.
Amazon Will Win
Siebel continued that there are two "juggernaut" companies that have spent billions of dollars to better position themselves for the future of technology.
However, one of those companies happens to be General Electric Company GE, which Siebel described as being "the world's greatest 19th century industrial company" that woke up one day and decided they are now the "world's leading 21st century information technology company" with not a single production customer.
This may further lead the way for Amazon's AWS unit to continue dominating the market. In fact, the unit is already bigger than its 16 closest competitors combined.
"Amazon is a winner," Siebel said. "What Amazon is doing with IoT is changing everything."
