Canadian businessman and “Shark Tank” investor Kevin O’Leary took to Facebook Live to reveal the results of his exploratory committee report on whether or not he would have a high probability of victory if he decides to for Prime Minister of Canada.
According to O’Leary, his committee found that he has a clear path p as a conservative candidate and he’s the only potential candidate that can defeat current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
“He’s not a bad guy, he’s just never run a business and he’s never run a country,” O’Leary said of Trudeau. “It’s painfully obvious.”
O’Leary asked his Facebook Inc FB followers if they believe he should run and received 35,000 responses, mostly in support of the idea.
An O’Leary campaign would likely focus on his ability to use his experience in the business world to get the Canadian economy back on track.
“The future of young Canadians is lost if there’s nowhere to get a job,” O’Leary said.
He also wants to reign in out-of-control spending.
“The real concern about Canadians is the insanity of spending. It’s like a giant spigot of waste.”
Although he hasn’t officially announced his candidacy, O’Leary closed the video by assuring his supporters that he will make a decision soon.
“Obviously, I’m going to consider this over the next couple of days, make my decision shortly and then start this journey with you.”
