The Latest iPhone Rumor Suggests Its Launch Date Has Been Moved To October Or November

Another day, another iPhone 8 rumor.

Apple Inc. AAPL is putting its September iPhone 8 launch on hold, according to CNBC, which cited reports from China's Economic Daily News publication. Apple's unveiling of its newest iPhone device won't happen until October or even November, the report said.

Economic Daily News highlighted DigiTimes in its report, which attributed the iPhone 8's delay to "technical issues related to the lamination process of curved OLED panels." DigiTimes has an "on-and-off track record" when it comes to reporting on news related to Apple's Chinese suppliers, according to CNBC.

The report did state it's "fishy" how Apple is having issues related to its screens, given the fact that its rival Samsung has been using similar curved OLED panels for some time, with the assumption being that any issues could have been corrected by now ahead of a potential inclusion in ithe iPhone design.

It's also important to note that Economic Daily News similarly reported that the iPhone 6 would launch a month later than expected, and that earlier prediction proved to be wrong.

For the time being, investors are advised to take the latest iPhone 8 rumor with skepticism, as it remains exactly that.
