Phase Separation Solutions Expands License to Cover China

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Aug. 10, 2009) - Phase Separation Solutions Inc. ("PS2"), a wholly owned subsidiary of West Mountain Capital Corp. (TSX VENTURE:WMT), has secured the exclusive right to use its Thermal Phase Separation technology (TPS) in China. Until today, PS2 had a TPS License Agreement with the patent holder for exclusive use of the TPS technology in North America to be limited to hazardous waste decontamination treatment services including hazardous waste remediation in the oil and gas industry, but specifically excluding all other uses that are associated with the oil and gas industry. This restriction would also apply to the China amendment. The exclusive TPS License is valid until November 2019. PS2 has been recognized by several major private environmental contractors in China as the provider of one of the leading commercially proven mobile, non-incineration soil remediation options available today. It is in active discussions to bid a number of World Bank funded remediation projects and to establish agency agreements for China. "We have already started nurturing relationships in China and understand much more about the market opportunities and applications of our TPS technology" said Paul Antle, President and CEO, "We truly hope the license expansion leads us to some great projects". PS2 is well positioned based on its technology, management team and international experience to exploit what is projected to be one of the largest environmental markets in the world. Annual expenditure by the Chinese State Environmental Protection Agency is at $162.5 billion up from $75 billion in 2005 with a year over year average growth of $32.5 billion representing 1.5% of the Chinese GDP. Recently PS2 completed all on-site remediation activities on its 6,300-tonne PCB contaminated waste contract located in Western Canada. All the PCB contaminated soil removed from the site is currently being treated using the company's state-of-the-art TPS soil treatment facility located in Wolseley, Saskatchewan. The contract commenced in early May 2009 and has a contract value of approximately $6.9 million. About Phase Separation Solutions: PS2 is an established Canadian environmental solutions company specializing in the thermal treatment of a variety of hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams. It employs a unique indirectly heated, closed loop technology that allows it to extract even the most hazardous contaminants from soil, industrial sludge and waste converting much of it into reusable oil and synthetic natural gas that it uses to sustain the process. This methodology offers significant opportunity for greenhouse gas reduction over traditional hazardous waste destruction technologies. PS2's management team maintains expertise in hazardous waste management and contaminated site remediation with experience spanning North America and internationally throughout 14 countries.
