Gourmet Popcorn Store, The Big Popper, Partners With Camp BizSmart to Support Literacy Programs

BRANSON, MO--(Marketwire - August 13, 2009) - Leading popcorn store, The Big Popper is taking the literacy cause seriously. The company has partnered with Camp BizSmart in an attempt to support literacy programs and provide essential skills to students. In May, the firm also joined hands with McDonalds and the Branson/Hollister Rotary to support Literacy Day by donating popcorn to volunteer workers in public schools.

The gourmet popcorn producer's new literacy venture with Camp BizSmart is a pioneering effort. The program seeks to partner company CEOs with aspiring entrepreneurs, called "tweenpreneurs," with the aim of inventing solutions for a variety of issues such as clean technology, literacy, childhood diabetes and healthy meals for schools. The tweenpreneurs are coached by the CEOs while they develop business plans for presentation to venture capital and angel investors. The plans will be judged by industry leading executives from firms such as Motro Ventures, Keiretsu, Santa Clara University, Garage Technology Ventures, Vantage Point Investors, Alibaba, HIP Ventures and Cristina Banks, an angel investor.
