CNBC Contributor Jared Levy Joins OptionsHouse

Hello OptionsHouse!

I wanted to use this opportunity to introduce myself to all of you and tell you a little bit about both my background and my new role at OptionsHouse. I have immersed myself in finance and trading my entire professional life – more than 14 years – and focused mainly on derivatives.

My past five years have been dedicated primarily to educating the public about options and market theory. I have been a member of three major U.S. stock and options exchanges, I’ve traded from home, and I have managed money as a financial adviser. I am also a CNBC Fast Money Contributor and can be seen every Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. Central Time.

My goal is to take some of the complex aspects of trading both stocks and options (as well as other products) and explain/rationalize them in a very practical, simplistic manner using analogies and relating the concepts to things that most of us do every day.

I am hoping to offer you some practical insight and analysis on live news events as well as concepts, ideas, and situations I have encountered over the years. I also intend to share many of the mistakes I have made and weaknesses I have personally experienced; I have overcome some of these, while others I have just learned to deal with.

Trading and education are both passions of mine and I hope I can help you better understand the markets as well as the strategies you use (or want to use) as well as the risk that you take on a daily basis.
