Anatomy of a Monster Investment Return

They say in the world of investing, Know What You're Buying, Know it's Fair Value, and Buy It When It's Way Oversold and Under-Valued . That happened to me in autumn of 2008 when I purchased Silver Wheatons SLW at under $3 per share. Today that stock is selling for almost $20 per share.Recently I had the opportunity to buy Helix Energy Solutions HLX under the same circumstances, as the BP-Oil Spill Tragedy news was at its zenith. Companies like Ensco ESV, Chevron, Anadarko Petroleum APC were all on bargain basement sale . Even behemoth, super-rich ExxonMobil was selling for under $60 a share and paying a rich dividend to boot. The Anatomy of a outstanding investment return is also illustrated by small companies, well-managed companies that are taken over and bought out by competitors.
