Manroy MAN, the UK based machine gun manufacturer, this morning reported that it had signed a £1.3m spare parts contract with a government in the Middle East and a three year technical support contract with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Under the terms of the contract in the Middle East, Manroy will supply spare parts for the 0.50” calibre Heavy Machine Gun (HMG), which the company sold to this particular Middle Eastern customer in 2008 in an order for 600 HMGs. Delivery of the spare parts is expected to be around mid-2011.
In addition, Manroy has signed a three year technical support contract with the MoD that covers the company's current range of products, including HMGs, mounting systems and tripods, together with related data packs, training, trials, testing and research and development. While it is not possible to quantify the precise monetary value of this contract, Manroy has agreed labour and materials costs with the MoD.
Glyn Bottomley, Manroy's chief executive, said: “I am delighted we have been able to secure these two valuable contracts so soon after our AIM listing last month. Each is important to the company as they reflect our strategy of both broadening our customer base as well as further developing our relationship with the MoD.”
Manroy joined AIM on December 22 as result of a reverse takeover of Manroy Systems Ltd by Hurlingham plc, raising £6.0m in a share placing priced at 75p per share. Manroy designs, manufactures, supplies and supports the 12.7mm M2 Heavy Machine Gun, the 7.62mm General Purpose Machine Gun and ancillary weapon tripods and mounting systems. It supplies these systems to the UK government and approved customers in more than 30 countries.
