New MacBook Pro details: larger glass trackpad, OS loaded on separate SSD

Boy Genius Report is claiming that they've been told information from one of their Apple sources that the new MacBook Pro models, which have been expected for a couple of months now, will be available for sale within the next two weeks and Apple Retail Stores will begin receiving shipments of them in the “coming days.” BGR has also been told some information regarding some of the changes in the new MacBook Pro line.

Firstly, the glass trackpad, which was first introduced by Apple on the Late 2008 Aluminum MacBook, will be even larger on the new MacBook Pro models, compared to the current-generation. Also, BGR was told that Mac OS X will be loaded onto a separate, internal 8-16 GB solid-state drive (SSD), while the rest of the user information will be stored the regular hard drive. There will still be options for just the SSD, but for base models will feature the combo. The only real benefit that we see with this combination is a speed increase.

The source also told BGR that the new MacBook Pro's will be a half-pound lighter than the current-generation models.
