Apple's Chief Patent Lawyer leaving company amidst lawsuits against Samsung and HTC

According to a report from Reuters, Apple's Chief Patent Lawyer, Richard "Chip" Lutton Jr., has left the company amidst lawsuits that are underway against Samsung, HTC, and others. According to the source, Lutton Jr. has been with Apple for ten years and decided that it is "time to try something else." Now, BJ Watrous is being listed as Apple's chief intellectual property (IP) counsel on his LinkedIn page.

Earlier this year, Apple filed a lawsuit against Samsung, claiming that Samsung stole design ideas from both iOS and iOS devices. Also, Apple just this week filed a request to ban the selling of some HTC devices as part of a year and a half lawsuit.
