Last week, we reported that the International Trade Commission (ITC) had ruled that HTC violated two of Apple's patents following Apple's lawsuit filing last year. HTC then responded to the ruling, saying that it will appeal the case and continue to fight.
ZNET Asia is now reporting on statements made by Google's executive chairman, Eric Schmidt. When asked about the ruling, Schmidt said: “We will make sure they [HTC] don't lose.” Schmidt then continued: “We have seen an explosion of Android devices entering the market and, because of our successes, competitors are responding with lawsuits as they cannot respond through innovations." He finished off by saying that he is "not too worried about this."
It was revealed last week that 550,000 Android devices are activated each day - a majority of those are likely devices manufactured by HTC.
