Twilight Concert and Pyromusical Show at Levis Forts National Historic Site of Canada

LEVIS, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 13, 2009) - Fireworks and the cannons of the 6th Field Artillery Regiment will accompany La Musique du Royal 22e Regiment and l'Orchestre symphonique de Levis at the 10th edition of the Twilight Concert. The evening will unfold under the honorary presidency of Mr. Steven Blaney, MP for Levis-Bellechasse. The event takes place on Saturday, August 15 at 6 p.m. at Levis Forts National Historic Site of Canada, 41 Chemin du Gouvernement in Levis. Admission is free.

The evening will begin with musical offerings by the Compagnie franche de la marine de Quebec and the Milice coloniale de Trois-Rivieres. They will be followed by the sixty musicians of the Orchestre symphonique de Levis, who will delight listeners with some well-known numbers under the baton of conductor Gilles Auger. At 7 p.m., the Musique du Royal 22e Regiment, directed by Captain Patrick Picard, will continue into the evening with a selection from their repertoire of popular and military music. To close the evening, a torchlight parade at around 9 p.m. will be followed by Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, accompanied by cannon fire and a spectacular pyromusical display.

The Twilight Concert is presented in collaboration with the Levis Caisse populaire Desjardins, the city of Levis, the 6th Field Artillery Regiment, La Fondation du memorial des militaires and Parks Canada.

Spectators are encouraged to bring along chairs. Refreshments will be on sale at the site with profits going to Noel du Bonheur. In case of rain, the concert will be rescheduled to the following day at the same time.
