Trump's Former Lawyer Says Ex-President's Frequent Attacks On Joe Biden A Reflection Of His Insecurities: 'He Knows He's Incompetent'

Former lawyer to Donald Trump, Michael Cohen, once again slammed the ex-president’s frequent attacks on President Joe Biden, suggesting that these attacks are a reflection of Trump’s own insecurities and failures.

What Happened: In a recent episode of the MeidasTouch Political Beatdow podcast, Cohen targeted Trump’s habitual criticisms of President Biden, including labeling Biden as “corrupt” and “incompetent.”

Cohen said these attacks are a deflection from Trump’s own shortcomings, which he has been accused of in the past. “It’s all about deflection,” Cohen said on the podcast.

“Take a look at my book for example, ‘Revenge.’ What’s the title? ‘How Donald Trump weaponized the United States Department of Justice Against his Critics.’ So what are we hearing Trump saying? ‘Crooked Joe! Crooked Joe! The most corrupt! Weaponizing the Justice Department!,'” He mentioned his books “Revenge” and “Disloyal,” where he detailed Trump’s strategy.

“He knows he’s incompetent. He knows that his four years accomplished ug**s,” said Cohen.

Cohen insinuated that Trump is conscious of his own incompetence and his presidency lacked notable accomplishments.

“Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. And so, what is he say? He sees Joe Biden’s record, and his people tell him about what’s going on obviously, but they say it by couching it by saying that’s not really how the press is saying it. You would have done better. It’s amazing the ass-kissing that goes on inside that small group of Donald’s. But he knows what Biden is doing, whether you like Joe, all of his policies, I don’t, but you still have to appreciate that this man, who they keep calling old, who they keep calling cognitively impaired, has done more in two years than Trump did in four.”

Why It Matters: Cohen, who previously served as Trump’s lawyer, has made several critical comments about the former president recently after their relations soured amid legal woes. Earlier this month, Cohen also predicted a severe financial setback for Trump, amounting to $600 million due to a New York civil fraud case. Trump, who is facing several legal challenges, is in the middle of the New York Civil Fraud case that revolves around the Trump Organization's financial statements, which Attorney General Letitia James alleges were manipulated by the Trump family.

Cohen also expressed certainty that Trump could end up in jail due to his ongoing legal issues. In an interview with CNN, he alleged that Trump may sell America’s national secrets for a ‘bag of Tuna.’ Cohen said since Trump knows most of U.S. confidential details, he should be subject to very significant home confinement and not be placed in jail.
