Tesla Inc. TSLA CEO Elon Musk on Sunday explained the decision to let go of the company logo on its upcoming Cybercab product, saying it’s not required if the product is “special enough.”
What Happened: “If the product is special enough, no logo is needed,” Musk said in a post on X. Tesla unveiled the Cybercab in October. The vehicle has no steering wheel or pedals and is meant for autonomous driving alone.
None of the Cybercabs unveiled at the event in October or the images shared by Tesla feature the company logo, similar to Tesla’s Cybertruck which doesn’t have a Tesla logo up front. The Cybertruck, however, bears a different design, with steel exteriors and an angular structure, setting it apart from other vehicles on the road.
The Cybercab, like Cybertruck, is also different from other vehicles on the road with butterfly wing-like doors that open upwards. The 2-seater vehicle, Musk said, will be priced under $30,000 and start production in 2026.
Why It Matters: Tesla, during its Robotaxi unveiling event, also unveiled a robovan with no pedals or steering wheel. The vehicle can transport up to 20 people or cargo and is inspired by Art Deco trains designed during the early 20th century.
The vehicle has astoundingly low ground clearance and an angular design.
However, Tesla did not provide a production timeline for the vehicle or a price point.
