Colorado EV Drivers Rejoice: ChargePoint Powers Highways with 33 Fast-Charging Sites

On Monday, ChargePoint Holdings, Inc. CHPT, along with the Colorado Energy Office, disclosed the completion of six EV fast-charging corridors across the state.

The project includes 33 DC fast charging sites with over 80 charging ports along Colorado highways.

The new charging sites provide fast, reliable charging along Colorado’s major highways, including Highway 40, I-70, Highway 50, Highway 550, and other key travel corridors.

Strategically located at convenience stores, visitor centers, and other driver-friendly spots, they offer convenience and entertainment during charging. Drivers can locate these sites using the ChargePoint mobile app or website.

This initiative was supported by $10 million in state funding and over $2 million from private and local government partners.

Colorado Energy Office Executive Director Will Toor added, “Our partnership with ChargePoint to install 33 fast chargers across the state was essential to help establish a foundation for Colorado’s public EV fast-charging network.”

“With convenient access to charging along our major transportation routes Coloradans can now drive across the state in an electric vehicle, from the north to the south and the east to the west.”

The Colorado Energy Office reports that the project has doubled corridor DC fast charging coverage across the state.

Before the project began in 2019, only 40% of highway corridors were within 30 miles of a fast charger; now, nearly 80% are covered.

Investors can gain exposure to the stock via WisdomTree Trust WisdomTree Battery Value Chain and Innovation Fund WBAT.

Price Action: CHPT shares are down 0.88% at $1.12 premarket at the last check Tuesday.
