iPhone 17 Pro To Retain Iconic 'Triangular' Camera Layout Despite Rumors Of Radical Horizontal Layout

Apple Inc. AAPL upcoming iPhone 17 Pro could stick with its distinctive "triangular" camera design.

What Happened: A post by the leaker “Instant Digital” on Weibo last week, contradicted rumors of a horizontal camera layout in iPhone 17 Pro, reported MacRumors.

The source said that while the iPhone 17 Pro’s rear design has seen modifications, the three-camera layout remains triangular.

Previous, rumors were based on supply chain data from China.

While Instant Digital’s track record for Apple rumors is mixed, they have provided some notably accurate information in the past, making their reports worth noting.

Why It Matters: The entire iPhone 17 lineup, including the base models, will reportedly feature low-temperature polycrystalline oxide panels. This development will enable Apple to bring high refresh rates to a broader audience.

Earlier, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also disclosed major improvements for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, including a 12GB DRAM and improved on-device AI capabilities.

A new OLED technology developed by Taiwan-based Novatek for slimmer displays could also play a pivotal role in shaping the design of future iPhones.

iPhone sales consistently account for about half of Apple’s total revenue. In October, Apple reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $94.9 billion, surpassing analyst projections of $94.56 billion. iPhone sales reached $46.22 billion, up from $43.8 billion the previous year.

Price Action: Apple shares rose by 0.31% on Monday. Year-to-date the company’s shares have climbed 37.51%, as reported by Benzinga Pro.
