Donald Trump's $9.9 Million Crypto Portfolio: Over 50% Growth Since September – How Many Cryptocurrencies Does Trump Own?

Former President Donald Trump has been in the spotlight for decades for his business ventures, political activities and legal matters. Less known is his involvement with cryptocurrency, where he has built a multimillion-dollar portfolio and profited from selling some of his tokens. Here’s an updated overview of the tokens Trump holds, according to Arkham databases.

The TROG token is the largest holding in Trump’s portfolio, with 210.345 billion tokens valued at approximately $4.5 million. TROG's token distribution strategy involves allocating 50% of its tokens to celebrity wallets, sparking widespread discussion in the crypto community. This token saw a value surge right before elections from $1.67 million in late September to about $2.58 million by the end of October.

Trump’s portfolio also includes a substantial investment in Ethereum (ETH) and Wrapped Ethereum (WETH). He holds approximately 500 ETH and WETH, valued at roughly $1.6 million based on ETH's current price of $3,383.74 at time of writing. These tokens primarily stem from the Trump Digital Trading Cards NFT collection, which featured 45,000 NFTs priced at $99 each and used Trump's likeness and branding. Through royalties, Trump has reportedly received over 1,700 ETH from this project. In late 2023, Trump sold 1,075 ETH, transferring the funds to Coinbase and generating around $2.4 million in profits.

Another significant asset in his portfolio is MAGA Coin (TRUMP), a meme coin launched last summer to champion Trump's political agenda and fund-aligned charities. Upon its creation, 580,000 TRUMP tokens were sent to his wallet, initially worth only a few thousand dollars at a valuation below $0.01 per token. By March, the token’s price surged to $11.56, pushing the value of his holdings to over $6.7 million. However, the current price has dropped to approximately $1.46 per token, bringing the total worth of his MAGA Coin holdings to around $961.62.

TROG, ETH, WETH and TRUMP account for approximately $8.7 million of Trump's $9.7 million crypto portfolio. Additionally, he holds over 50 other tokens with a significant chunk of memecoins.

The largest is CONAN, a meme coin named after a special forces dog famed for its role in the 2019 raid targeting Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The creators, affiliated with the team behind TRUMP, sent 20 billion CONAN tokens to Trump’s wallet at the project’s launch in February. The tokens were worth $40,000 at launch but have since depreciated to around $23,400. 

Although not widely publicized, Trump’s crypto portfolio offers a peculiar glimpse into the cryptocurrency community and his financial interests. The eclectic nature of his holdings provides insight into both the digital asset market and Trump’s investment strategies. As blockchain transactions are publicly accessible, anyone can monitor Trump’s portfolio to observe all inflows, outflows and new tokens he acquires.
