U.S. stocks were higher, with the Dow Jones index gaining over 100 points on Tuesday.
Shares of H&E Equipment Services, Inc. HEES rose sharply during Monday's session after the company inked a deal to be acquired by United Rentals, Inc. URI for around $4.8 billion, including $1.4 billion in net debt.
The acquisition price of $92 per share in cash represents a premium of around 109% over H&E’s trading price as of January 13, 2025.
H&E Equipment shares jumped 106% to $90.52 on Tuesday.

- Quantum Computing Inc. QUBT rose 16.5% to $7.59.
- KULR Technology Group, Inc. KULR shares surged 14% to $2.52.
- ACM Research, Inc. ACMR gained 13% to $17.51 after the company raised its 2024 revenue outlook.
- ORIC Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ORIC rose 11.7% to $9.61.
- TeraWulf Inc. WULF gained 9% to $5.66. Shares of crypto-related companies traded higher following softer-than-expected December inflation data.
- XPeng Inc. XPEV gained 9% to $12.85. Shares of Chinese stocks traded higher. China’s central bank reportedly indicated it would take measures to support economic growth.
- Vistra Corp. VST rose 6.7% to $173.01.
- Robinhood Markets, Inc. HOOD surged 6.1% to $42.02 after the company announced a $45 million settlement with the SEC.
- Herc Holdings Inc. HRI gained 6.1% to $194.68.
- KB Home KBH shares rose 5.9% to $67.84 after Evercore ISI Group raised its price target from $88 to $95.
