Elon Musk recently took to social media to express his confusion over the backlash he faces, writing, “My companies make great products that people love and I've never physically hurt anyone. So why the hate and violence against me? Because I am a deadly threat to the woke mind parasite and the humans it controls.”
His post was in response to a tweet from “Insurrection Barbie,” who claimed, “The left cannot name one thing they hate Elon Musk for.”

Criticism and Counterpoints
Not everyone agreed with Musk’s sentiment. Political activist Melanie D’Arrigo responded with a list of criticisms, including Tesla’s TSLA high fatal crash rate, the company's anti-union stance, Musk’s push for deregulations that she claims could endanger lives, and alleged job losses linked to his involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency.
Musk may not personally hurt people, but working at his companies can be dangerous. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration last year cited the company for three "serious" violations of workplace safety regulations at the Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, where Cybertrucks are being produced.
Tesla's Fremont factory in California also has a history with worker injuries. Employees there had a higher injury rate than the national average, according to Worksafe, which analyzed reports filed with OSHA. Tesla has been accused of underreporting injuries, and SpaceX, another of Musk's companies, has been criticized for similar workplace safety issues.

Political Backlash and Accusations of Violence
During a recent interview with Fox News, Musk addressed what he sees as politically motivated hostility toward him. He accused the Biden administration of rejecting SpaceX's offer to return astronauts from space earlier than planned “for political reasons,” adding that “President Trump prioritized and expedited the return.”
He also responded to recent acts of vandalism and violence against Tesla, including dealership fires, shootings at charging stations, and threats against him and his family. Musk claimed, “It's really come as quite a shock to me that there is this level of hatred and violence from the left.”
He suggested that his efforts to expose government waste and fraud have made him a target, stating, “It turns out when you take away people's money that they are receiving fraudulently, they get very upset, and they basically want to kill me.”
Concerns About Government Spending
Musk has repeatedly warned about the dangers of government overspending, claiming in the interview with Fox News that the U.S. is “going bankrupt” due to corruption and wasteful spending. “The cost of our debt has gotten so high that just the interest payments on the debt exceed the entire military budget,” he argued.
His stance against government corruption and support for Trump have made him a divisive figure, with both strong supporters and fierce detractors.
