Bridger Aerospace Group Holdings, Inc. BAER shares are trading higher in premarket on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the company unveiled a strategic alliance with Positive Aviation, Inc. (PA), a French engineering firm, to serve as the exclusive North American launch customer for PA’s advanced FF72 firefighting aircraft.
This new partnership was announced yesterday at the Aerial Fire Fighting Series: Europe Conference and Exhibition (AFFE25) in Bordeaux, France.
While the agreement is still subject to final negotiations, it is expected to strengthen Bridger’s fleet with amphibious aircraft specifically designed to tackle wildfires.
“Bridger is the leading aerial firefighting company in North America and has long been recognized for its expertise in deploying, training, and providing aerial firefighting services to communities affected by wildfires,” said Chairman and Founder of PA, Laurent Schmitt.
“We are proud to partner with Bridger and are excited to develop this aircraft to meet the growing demand for cost-effective wildfire fighting solutions both in the U.S. and globally.”
FF72 Aircraft is a next-generation amphibious water-scooping model derived from the ATR 72-600, known for its reliability and efficiency.
Bridger’s expansion into this new technology will complement its existing fleet of CL-415 EAF Super Scoopers.
Under the partnership, Bridger Aerospace will take on sole responsibility for the marketing, sales, and support of the FF72 aircraft across North America.
As outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Bridger will oversee the aircraft’s modifications, certification processes, and the training of flight crews and mechanics, in addition to offering continuous in-service support.
The deal also presents the possibility of acquiring up to 20 FF72 units, with deliveries anticipated to start by 2029.
Price Action: BAER shares traded higher by 3.33% at $1.24 in premarket at last check Wednesday.
