Success is often portrayed as a complex formula. While each person has a different path to success, each of those journeys rhymes. Grant Cardone recently said in an X post that 95% of success comes down to a simple variable that anyone can do. This one element can help you succeed with your business, investments, parenting, and any other goal that you pursue.

Just Show Up

Showing up is a prerequisite for success, and you have to show up often to reach long-term goals. While anyone can show up on a good day, Cardone explains that you have to regularly show up.

Don't Miss:

The real estate mogul encourages people to show up when they are feeling good, scared, tired, hopeless, and ready to quit. Essentially, it doesn't matter how you feel or what the context is. Most of your success is based on showing up, even if you only show up for a few minutes.

Showing Up Is the Hardest Part

According to Newton's first law of motion, it's hard to initiate an object's movement due to inertia. However, once you get it to move, it is easier to maintain that object's motion. This phenomenon applies to people and is important to understand when it comes to showing up.

Showing up requires going from a state of rest to a state of action. That's the hard part. Once you actually show up and commit to the activity, the work gets easier over time. Cardone is a successful investor because he regularly shows up.

If you show up, you will come to learn the necessary skills over time. You will also take a stronger interest in your success if you regularly make the effort to show up.

Know What You Want to Achieve

Time is finite. The time you commit to one activity can't be allocated toward another activity. That's why Cardone makes it a point to prioritize showing up for a few areas instead of showing up for everyone.

In the X post, Cardone emphasizes making your kids great, being trusted, being respected, and making God smile. You don't have to show up for people who disrespect you or drain your energy.

Just as Cardone did with the X post, you can write a list of the people and goals you want to show up for. The smaller the list is, the better. Having fewer goals allows you to commit more time and energy to each of them.

Start with a Small Step

You don't have to take a monumental step to go from rest to motion. Instead, it can be a small step, such as browsing through real estate listings, sending a short email to an important contact, or putting on your gym clothing.

Focusing on the first small step makes it easier to get into motion. Once you are in motion, it's easier to stay that way and consistently show up. If you regularly show up every day for multiple years, you can achieve meaningful long-term results.
