If Amazon's AMZN "AmazonTote" proves worthwhile to customers already using it in Seattle, you may never have to go to the grocer's again.
The company is doing internal testing of a free grocery delivery service for its employees in Seattle for the past half year and results are fairly strong.
The service would bring you your weekly delivery of groceries to your home for free, and bagged in reusable tote bags.
The Financial Times says the service is linked to Amazon's Fresh grocery delivery service.
Of course the prices of the products are higher, say $2.50 for a grapefruit, but you are paying for convenience in this case.
Amazon is trying to compete with other grocers like Wal-Mar WMT, Target TGT, as well as companies like Supervalu SVU, Kroger's KRO and other super markets in an effort to win consumer dollars.
Would you use AmazonTote if given the chance?
