Dollar Worries Corporate America
Corporate bigwigs are concerned about the credibility of the US dollar during this turbulent phase, with fears of rising inflation that could damage the economy.
After its falling to a 14-month low, CEOs like Steve Odland, of Office Depot Inc. (NYSE: ODP) are worried about devaluation and its repercussions in the global market. Federal Reserve’s process of ‘printing money’ through various programs doesn’t help the risk of inflation either. PG&E Corp (NYSE: PCG) CEO Peter Darbee is of the opinion that the government’s spending strategy needs to be modified in order to curb a further decline in the dollar’s value. Of late, the greenback is under selling pressure due to U. S. interest rates expected to stagnate for some time.
