Jennifer Lopez/Marc Anthony Announcement Is Good For Kohl's, Goldman Sachs Reports

Following Kohl's Corp.'s KSS announcement regarding a partnership with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, in which the two will launch an exclusive lifestyle brand at Kohl's retailers, Goldman Sachs said that it believes the launch is positive on several fronts: (1) Fill a key void in men's better contemporary (2) Jennifer Lopez's plans to join the cast of American Idol should help its marketing message (3) It has been several years since the company has engaged in a sizable storewide launch (Chaps launch in 2005, Vera Wang in 2007 and Dana Buchman in 2009). “These major launches have successfully driven traffic and ticket in the past,” Goldman Sachs writes. “We believe the powerful partnership between Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Li & Fung and Kohl's should once again deliver compelling product for the consumer that powers share gains going forward.” Kohl's Corp. currently trades at $53.62.
