Piper Jaffray surveyed 46 Red Hat RHT partners “for an early assessment of the flagship product cycle, RHEL 6, and walk away with greater conviction that RHEL 6 extends RHT's competitive lead and will drive strong bookings growth in 2011.”
“35% of partners view RHEL 6 as more meaningful than a typical product cycle, versus 0% who take the opposite view,” Piper Jaffray writes. “Partners sense that RHEL 6 will ‘entrench Red Hat's stance as a major Cloud player' due to ‘impressive specifications' for Virtualization and Cloud support. New business bookings and renewal rates should benefit.”
Red Hat closed Wednesday at $41.34.
