Jefferies Expects "Strong 1Q Results" From AMZN

Jefferies expects Amazon AMZN to report “strong 1Q results with strength across all segments, with potential upside from Kindle and F/X tailwind, partially offset by Japan exposure.” (Amazon reports 1Q after the close on Tuesday, April 26.) “We expect $9.4B (+31.3% Y/Y) in revenues and $0.59 in GAAP EPS vs. consensus of $9.5B (+33.5% Y/Y) and $0.61,” Jefferies writes. “Guidance is for $9.1-9.9B in revenues (+28-39% Y/Y). We expect ~$50M in contribution from BuyVip, ~$35M from Woot and ~ $50M hit from Japan. We note that our estimates exclude LoveFilm.” Amazon closed Thursday at $185.89.
