Meanwhile, the company will also launch a 7-inch iPad using the Cortex-A9 processor and an IPS panel with a resolution of 1024×768, according to Digitimes Research senior analyst Mingchi Kuo. As for the CDMA iPhone, Pegatron Technology is expected to start mass production in December and will supply to both US-based Verizon Wireless and China-based China Telecom….. Apple is also set to launch a new Apple TV using AMD's Fusion solution and will not include a hard drive. The new device will adopt a user interface similar to the iPhone with support for social networking websites, network multimedia and the App Store.” “Foundry chipmaker United Microelectronics Corporation UMC has announced revenues of NT$10.82 billion (US$342 million) for July 2010, up 4.7% on month and 22.8% on year. UMC expects revenues to increase 5-11% sequentially in the third quarter, CEO Shih-Wei Sun said at a recent company investors conference,” the analysts add. Oppenheimer mentions, “Getting a jump on its rivals, Texas Instruments Inc. claims that it will be the first licensee for ARM Holdings plc's next-generation Cortex-A series processor core, codenamed Eagle. TI will partner with ARM in the conception and definition of Eagle, which will be formally announced later this year. TI intends to use the new processor to expand future OMAP platform offerings. TI formally engaged with ARM on this project in June 2009. ARM Holdings ARM recently said it plans to launch three additions to its Cortex family of processor cores during 2010.” More Analyst Ratings here
