Winn-Dixie's Transformation And Implementations Attractive To Citigroup

Citigroup has published a research report on Winn-Dixie Stores WINN as the company is starting to implement improved pricing, merchandising, and customer insights. In the report, Citigroup writes "WINN has begun a strategic multi-year agreement with SAS to improve the technology behind its marketing and merchandising operations. We believe WINN will utilize SAS technology/software to improve its pricing, merchandising, and customer insights. This is the next step in WINN's focus on increasing sales through its loyalty card. Recall, WINN is currently the only grocer with a loyalty card in the majority of its markets. We believe WINN's loyalty card will become a huge competitive advantage for the company as it learns how to better capitalize on the data." Citigroup maintains its Buy rating and $11 price target. Winn-Dixie Stores closed yesterday at $6.41.
