Piper Jaffray provided color on Oracle Corporation ORCL. In a research report published today, Piper Jaffray commented on its research about which companies will be most hit by Oracle's strong performance.
In the report, Piper Jaffray states, "We surveyed 33 Oracle partners to determine which of the major enterprise IT
vendors are most vulnerable to market share losses due to Oracle's acquisition path
and integrated systems strategy. SAP was mentioned by 41% of respondents, Dell
by 31%, and HP by 25%. The findings support our earlier work which shows: when
Exadata systems go in, other vendors get squeezed out. Contacts note that "ORCL
now offers a more inclusive stack" across software, hardware, and applications. HP
is viewed to be particularly vulnerable to Exadata, while certain contacts indicate
"the cost of SAP products and implementation are seen to produce negative ROI"."
At the moment, Piper Jaffray has an Overweight rating and a price target of $37 on Oracle. On Thursday, Piper Jaffray added 1.24% to its value to close the day at $33.40. Its shares continued to rise in today's pre-market trading, climbing 0.27% to $33.49.
