When Tesla Motors Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk Tweets, investors listen.
Musk said in two separate Tweets on Sunday that Tesla will unveil an "unexpected by most" new product on October 17 and a potential joint Tesla-SolarCity Corp SCTY on October 28.
In a separate Tweet, he reaffirmed that Tesla and SolarCity won't need to raise equity or debt in the fourth quarter in order for the merger of the two companies to complete.
Musk's Tweets help boost both Tesla and Solar City's stock price higher by nearly 3 percent early Monday morning.
All-Solar Car Roof?
Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities Research briefly commented in a research report what Musk may have up his sleeve.
According to one of Wall Street's top Tesla analysts, Chowdhry's "best guess" is that Tesla could introduce an "All-Solar roof" for its Model S and Model X vehicles. He noted that this feature could be added in 2018.
The analyst added it's "very likely" that Tesla is working on two different variations of the Model 3 vehicle. The car version was already unveiled back in March and a cross-over could be introduced on October 17.
Shares of Tesla were back above $200 in Monday's pre-market session.
