“William Tell Overture” sounds, a match strikes, light bulbs illuminate, a bonfire burns, a wheel turns…
The gravity theory, the train, the bike, glasses, the telephone, the typing machine, toilet paper, television sets, the jet pack, the freezer, Tamagotchi, the film camera, the zipper, wind power, the airplane, robots, spaceships, drones, guitars… The new MacBook Pro!
Apple Inc. AAPL’s latest ad features all of these elements, and then some. “Ideas have always pushed the world forward. Introducing a tool for all the ideas to come. The new MacBook Pro,” it ends, suggesting this version of Steve Jobs’ laptop will be remembered as a revolutionary leap to the fore.
Although the whole computer is shown, the ad emphasizes the new Touch Bar, a revolutionary input method, if you will.
Of course, experts are questioning how revolutionary the new MacBook Pro really is. In a recent article, Express dubbed it “one of the most iconic laptops ever made.”
Among its pros, they listed: “Stunning Display, Touch Bar Brings A New Experience And Will Only Get Better, Awesome Force Touch Trackpad is Market-Leading.”
Cons, however, included: “Battery Life Could Be Better, Expensive, Missing Ports Will Frustrate Pro Users.”
