T-Mobile US reported revenues of $20.2 billion, up 4.7% and beating expectations by 120 basis points (bps), Horan said. The company's postpaid phone net additions of 865,000, which came in 65,000 higher than the estimate, was more than that of Verizon Communications Inc. VZ and AT&T Inc T combined, the analyst stated. The company is on track for around 3 million phone adds this year, he further mentioned.

"T-Mobile reported another strong quarter with continued industry-leading subscriber growth coupled with stringent focus on operating costs leading to a slight beat on EBITDA which supported another guidance increase," Yaghi wrote in a note.
The company continued to be well positioned to maintain industry-leading growth rates on both phone adds and cash generation "as we still see additional growth potential in suburban, rural and enterprise segments in mobile as well as a path towards additional market share gains in broadband," the analyst stated.
