Russians in New York: Major NYSE-Traded Russian Companies (MTL, MBT, VIP, WBD)

How are Russian companies doing in American trading? Today, Benzinga gives you a list of Russian companies currently trading on the NYSE exchange in New York City. Mechel MTL, a mining and metal-producing giant, has opened the day very strongly, its shares rising almost 1.5% to $28.68. Still, since the beginning of the year the company's shares lost almost 10% of their value. Mobile Telesystems MBT still trades around the same value as it did in the beginning of January this year. In the early trading, its shares stood at $20.78, $0.17 or 0.8% rise on yesterday's closing value. Vimpel-Communications VIP, another mobile phone operator, is down 4% this year. Nevertheless, its shares have opened the day on a high, rising over 1% to $14.55. The last Russian company on the NYSE is Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods WBD, and it is the only Russian company to gain value this year – ending up 3% higher from its early January levels. In the early trading its shares reached $34, 0.65% higher on the previous day. Despite the struggles Russia, all of the NYSE-traded Russian companies have opened up today's trading in America on a high note. Let us wait and see how long they can keep up their momentum.
